How to Style a blazer
A blazer is a key item in your wardrobe so learning how to style one for different occasions, with jeans, for work, over a dress or casual weekend will instantly update and add more options to your outfit combinations. This means they can potentially be worn during the day, special outings and evening celebrations.
This is my suit jacket, now worn as a day blazer with jeans and t-shirt.
A BLAZER IS KEY.
A modern day layer with jeans or a smart shoulder cover in the evening, the blazer adds a continental chic we all love. Oversized or fitted, they both can work, depending on your preference.
How to wear a blazer and what occasions.
You may have a business jacket kept for smart, but if you are now working from home more often, try wearing it over a stripe t-shirt, jeans and trainers. Or this cotton jersey options by White Stuff for more weekend casual.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
- At the moment a little on the looser side is more modern.
- Keep the colour fairly neutral so it works over everything.
- Try to layer a longer shirt under a more fitted blazer.
- Think about fabric, linen is cooler but will crease at elbows.
- Mid weight linen/cotton with a little elastane is a great blend.
- Second hand jackets are a great buy, the better brands last longer.
- Try a man’s second hand jacket for the oversized look.
- Go down in size if you prefer a neater fit, to really clinch in the waist.
- A pretty dress works with a mannish jacket either draped over your shoulders or worn with sleeves turned up.
