If, like me, you are feeling that January flat, I like to click on the ‘New In’ link with designer on-line stores to get a feel of the trends selling now, and then try and find similar styles on the high street. Yes, you may lose the full designer flair, but we know our own budgets and need to work within those boundaries. Here are a few that inspired me recently as wardrobe staples or fun additions.
Go all out in ruffles, Broderie Anglaise and girlie frills that need a rough edge of denim for balance.
The biker jacket is now a wardrobe staple in leather, denim or faux fabric blends, perfect over pretty dresses and white shirts. Keep design details minimal.
Rainbow colours in prints and definitely stripes will be popping up everywhere, I wore the Pure Collection version in my recent model day with Good Housekeeping magazine, February issue.
Khaki everything but most of all a classic shirt dress, which magically dresses or down effortlessly.
The return of the duffle or bucket bag, look out for rich colour tones.
The classic boucle jacket, a perfect Spring weight over casual printed t-shirts or a basic T shirt with jeans.
Just a little taster for the new season, but its good to keep an eye on the designer inspiration, if sometimes just out of budget.
