10 tips for a Winter Wardrobe Shuffle
October 20, 2016I wanted something Red
November 7, 2016There’s a chill in the air – I have that feeling of wanting to cosy up in textured knits and long cardigans in warm earthy tones. In fact I dug out my trusty Jigsaw boyfriend cardigan, in a tobacco shade, and love it layered with shades of denim for this kind of weather.
Brands have been emailing all sorts of knitted lovelies over the last week, in a mixture of wools and blends, some washable some not, so choose what works for you.
This was the first one I saw and thought ‘yum’ but then I noticed it was made of acrylic and Nylon and still dry clean only. Pretty, but not so edible!
Or long and lean, I love this. Hand wash advised, although I would be careful with a delicate machine wash.
Hooded, tailored, but long and slouchy too. A blend with 7% wool, hand wash recommended.
From the States, Madewell is becoming more well known and their styling is very inspiring. Luxurious merino wool and washable too, this cardigan is nearly a coat (so they call it a sweater coat, nicer than coatigan!)
I like the colour and texture from Next, with some added sparkle for daytime glitz. But with only 5% wool in a multi blend it’s easy to wash and more about impact than warmth.
Texture from Cos in this herringbone style fuzzy knit with 13% wool plus mohair, it is also machine washable.
Chunky and in a manly cut, this is a great option from French Connection, in fact they had loads of great knitwear, with 16% wool and hand wash.
And to finish with, in a warm cream, a Boden classic styled to perfection (i.e. over stripes!) A good 80% wool, although it recommends dry clean.
These are all so wearable and right for now, it’s just tricky to choose only one!
