Make Way for Wide
February 22, 2016It’s nearly too simple but every time I work with a wardrobe, it’s the item that needs replacing.
3. Core item – The Long Sleeve White T-shirt
Ideal for layering as shown on Pinterest, under, over, inside, sitting low, sitting high. A no brainer.
Always buy one with a stretch fibre blend to keep its shape, otherwise the body and sleeves will go baggy and loose its sleek under layer advantage.
A great scoop neck, double front version from White Company, £30, 95% modal 5% elastane. Or higher neck version as featured in opening image, £26.
(By the way, Modal is a type of rayon, a semi-synthetic cellulose fiber made by spinning reconstituted cellulose, in this case often from beech trees) I’m sure you wanted to know.

The White Company essential white T-shirt
Or if you prefer a V-neck (they have scoop too) and made in 95% cotton 5% elastane, look at Jigsaw, £35.

Jigsaw double front V-neck
Or for a 3/4 sleeve length, Uniqlo offer a version in 94% Cotton 6% Spandex (a branded elastane), £9.90

Uniqlo 3/4 sleeve single layer
All of these are fully functional for a modern wardrobe. Wash carefully with only pure white others and avoid too much softener to keep the rubber stretch fibres on top form.
Layer up (it might snow!)
