          It’s a Wrap

          Silk knotted cushion

          November 1, 2015

I had a notion the other day and acted on it straight away.

Using a beautiful silk scarf to cover a feather pad without cutting the scarf and spoiling the print.

Simple and effective. Birthday present sorted for that evening

          You will need:

Silk scarf, 16″ cushion pad, cotton and thread.

With wrong sides together, sew down the length of the scarf

Turn right sides out, and slide cushion pad into centre of the tube of silk now created

Fold in edges, like a parcel at both ends, and hand catch with a few stiches.

          Hand stitch to hold together.

Fold both points to meet, pull a little, and tie in a double mini knot and stitch through to hold.

It really is an easy way to make a sumptuous silk scarf. Search out classic designs in second shops, or grandma’s own collection.

Moving through my forties I've gained confidence to believe in 'style over trends' - quality wins (most of the time) and not to take it all too seriously. A great jacket is always my motto, and I like to play about with old and new and mix in some craft ideas too. I work with lovely clients who want a concise wardrobe or a unique outfit for a special occasion. I hope to inspire you.
