Denim has attitude and can be worn super relaxed or smart casual, as shown by these stylish women I have pinned on my Pinterest board. Avoid the super skinny and take time to find the brands that really suit your shape. For a designer fit, look at NYDJ jeans, available in petite, tall and plus sizes in all the leg style options, whereas from the high street I still love Gap Real Straight jeans for affordable everyday.

Wear with classic shirts, and cashmere, good leather belts and accessories, or as below, be inspired by our lovely lady wearing denim her own way past 80!  Get denim inspiration from real life women with Scott Schuman’s The Sartorialist, blogger and photographer of street style.

Denim and a white shirt, by the stylish Linda Wright

I noticed this lovely lady and her husband walking across Sainsbury’s carpark earlier this year, showing that denim works at any age. Heading towards her 90’s, she rocked a classic Ralph Lauren look with denim dress, tapestry bag and boat shoes.

I had to take a photo – she was thrilled to be noticed and her husband was as proud as punch.

Get the look with this TopShop dress, unbelted would work on a Petite height as knee length or unbuttoned as a casual jacket over jeans and T-shirt for taller.

It’s a great look for all,
