Over the last few weeks, my blog postings were all about looking forward to Spring but obviously it’s still Winter and the weather’s getting cold again…rewind to Winter Warmers.

Lets enjoy layering. Really, it can be fun. Think not one or two, but three or four layers peeking out to add colour, shape and interest under gloomier skies.
I found these all on Pinterest. How about these….

Kirstie Smillie

Cardigan, denim jacket, jumper, T-shirt

Kirstie Smillie

Coat over zipped jacket and polo necks

Kirstie Smillie

Coat, gilet, over button up shirt

Dig out the big over coats and cuddle up. (Borrow husbands, boyfriends or Grandpas if needed)

Kirstie Smillie

Oversized lapels and roll collars

Kirstie Smillie

Textures galore, fur, felt and wool

Scarves go big, nearly blanket proportions.

Kirstie Smillie

Plaid and stripes, a favourite of mine

Kirstie Smillie

Tones of grey, maybe socks added!

The big one … oversized sweaters.

Kirstie Smillie

Big knit, big scarf, slim leg gear.

Kirstie Smillie

Chunky over stripes, how cosy?

Kirstie Smillie

Tailored jacket with knit peeking out.

Finish off with big warm boots, I am wishing I had a pair of these classics from LLBean. Link HERE. Heavenly… warm and waterproof! My Dad won’t believe I love these after all the trouble I gave him as a teenager not wanting to wear sensible walking boots in the Alps (we are talking over 30 years ago, when very unfashionable!)

Kirstie Smillie

Original iconic ‘duck’ boot

Don’t forget the socks, scrunched down.

Kirstie Smillie

One chunky or layer two thin.

Gap are offering 30% off this selection of easy layers, link HERE (in case you are missing a few), but hopefully you have similar pieces at home to pile on.
