          It’s a Wrap

          November 1, 2015

Or is it a poncho, cape or shawl…

Whatever we call it, it’s the shape of the season. An easy layer to fling over, cover up and fits all occasions. My teenage daughter loves them and my seventy-five year old mum loves them too. They are more of an accessory than an actual garment as it really doesn’t matter too much on the fit as they layer and drape and add an instant cool to the basics. Choose the length that suits your shape best.

I love this tobacco version from Zara, layered over a longer fine knit with cropped jeans – pure cashmere and also washable. This is an ideal shape for Pear shape bodies, covering thighs and could easily be belted for waist emphasis.

Or this Jigsaw wide neck layer sitting with an asymmetric hem line – it adds instant chic to basic jeans and t-shirt, perfect for Apple body shapes, camouflaging tummies but showing off slender legs.

          Jigsaw poncho

Jigsaw wool blend layer available in seven colours.

Layer over shirts or polo necks and even over denim jackets for warmth. But choose a pure wool or high wool blend, something to cuddle into and offer the coziness we need in winter, as its unlikely you could put a coat over top. Most wools are washable now, and even with hand wash instuctions I would wash in the machine, carefully, on a cool wool wash.

          Enjoy and cuddle up.

Moving through my forties I've gained confidence to believe in 'style over trends' - quality wins (most of the time) and not to take it all too seriously. A great jacket is always my motto, and I like to play about with old and new and mix in some craft ideas too. I work with lovely clients who want a concise wardrobe or a unique outfit for a special occasion. I hope to inspire you.
