          Feel the Breeze

From raggedy jean hems and cold shoulder tops this summer to haphazard holes, multiple splits or just a simple vent in an unusual place. The ideal way to wear this trend is to team with super sleek – torn hems need a tailored jacket or pretty cashmere sweater and a holed jumper needs to be layered over a crisp white shirt and clean jeans – try and get the balance of old and new, girlfriend and tomboy.

Madewell cropped jeans with raw hem, £116

Inspiration comes from British designer Zoe Jordan who has amazing knitwear that I first noticed with on-line store Farfetch, a great source of new ideas including these three designs showing sumptuous holes and slashes, all around £350.

High street options come from Asos with an acrylic blend, a great way to play with this textured idea.

More subtle with Jigsaw with tiny spinal holes.

          Jigsaw merino wool jumper, £89

Tiny choker cut out from Asos offers just a hint of skin.

          Jason Lloyd-Evans

Leaf design open knit sweater, £335

It’s a trend to have a go at in just a small way or go full on moth-eaten and scissor crazy!

Moving through my forties I've gained confidence to believe in 'style over trends' - quality wins (most of the time) and not to take it all too seriously. A great jacket is always my motto, and I like to play about with old and new and mix in some craft ideas too. I work with lovely clients who want a concise wardrobe or a unique outfit for a special occasion. I hope to inspire you.
